Rite of Passage in the Modern World

Newer,more commercial rite of passage has been developed by the modern western societies,such as the prom to mark teenagers coming of age.The prom is a formal dance held at the end of the final academic year in high school.The boys usually wear a dinner jackets and a bow tie and the girls wear formal gowns or dresses and carry a corsage of flowers.The prom originated in the USA and Canada but recently has become increasingly popular in the UK and Australia as well.

PALMS OF THE DAY




Palms of the Day.On Eid day .That is people who follow Islamic faith fast for thirty days and celebrate the end of fasting is called "Eid' is an Arabic word for festivity. Most of the woman and young girls in the Middle eastern countries and some of the Asian countries decorate their hands with "henna' ( paste of a kind of green leaves known as 'henna) for this ocassion. Henna is a herbal dye. The leaves from Henna plants are dried and powdered .Then it is packetted and sold in sales outlets.It's made into a paste and nozzles or cones made of leaves are used to make any desired design on the palms and back of the hands.Even some women decorate the feet with henna.The photos above are of the henna decorated hands.Some women use this as a natural hair dye which turns hair to lovely blond.
